Store the password somewhere you control. If it is lost, the file cannot be opened, and nobody here can recover it. The download is a new file; your original on disk stays as it was unless you replace it yourself.

Use a password you would not put in the file name or in the same email as the PDF. Locking is for copies you hand to one person, not for a stamp that merely says "confidential". Open the locked file once in a reader so you know the password works.

Questions people ask

The file cannot be opened. Nobody at NoUploadPDF can recover it, because the bytes never left your device and the key is not stored here.
